“Silicon Savannah – Disruption starts at the bottom of the market”

That was the title of my key-note at the Banken Challenge 2020 in Cologne on November 21, 2017 . I started with “breaking news”:

French telecom provider Orange has become a bank

Starting on November 1st, 2017,  Orange has become a full-fledged bank. For now, in France. In 5 to 10 years Orange targets a 25% market share in the online banking business.

But already next year, Orange plans for a turnover of 400 million Euro, 50% of it in African countries.
